Access

ICMPC17-APSCOM7 will be held at Ekoda campus, Nihon University, Tokyo, Japan.

International Flight

Tokyo is located on Tokyo Bay in the Kanto region of Honshu, Japan’s largest island.
The closest airports are Haneda Airport (officially known as Tokyo International Airport) and Narita Airport (Japan’s largest international airport).

To get to the venue, the hub station is Ikebukuro (池袋 in Japanese characters).
Ikebukuro is well serviced by subway and local train lines. The following lines stop at Ikebukuro Station:
JR (Japan Railway): Yamanote (JY) / Shonan-Shinjuku (JS) / Saikyo lines (JA)

Information about Tokyo

Climate

The weather in Tokyo at the time of year the conference is held usually sunny and humid, with temperatures between 25° C (77° F) and 35° C (95° F). Please refer to https://www.japan.travel/en/weather/kanto/ for the weather forecast for the Kanto region (including Tokyo).

Currency Exchange

Only Japanese yen (JPY, ¥) is acceptable at regular stores and restaurants. Certain foreign currencies may be accepted at a limited number of hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops. You can exchange your currency for Japanese yen at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers upon presentation of your passport.

Traveler’s Checks and Credit Cards

Traveler’s checks are accepted only by leading banks and major hotels in principal cities, and the use of traveler’s checks in Japan is not as popular as in some other countries.

Major credit cards such as VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club, and American Express are widely accepted in hotels, department stores, stores, restaurants, and nightclubs.

Tipping

In Japan, tipping is not customary in hotels, restaurants, or anywhere else. A service charge is added to the bill at some locations; therefore, tips do not need to be given separately.

Electrical Appliances

Japan operates on 100 volts for electrical appliances. The frequency is 50 Hz in eastern Japan (including Tokyo), and 60 Hz in western Japan.

Drinking Water

Tap water is drinkable in Japan. Bottled water is also available at vending machines or shops.
