Guideline for Participation

ICMPC17-APSCOM7 will be held in a hybrid format, offering two modes of participation: on-site (in-person) and online. Keynote, symposium, and oral presentations will be streamed via Zoom during their respective sessions. However, poster sessions and any other social events will not be streamed online.

Recordings and photographs (including the capturing of Zoom streams) are not allowed during all conference sessions.

For on-site participants

When you arrive at the site, please proceed to the ICMPC17-APSCOM7 Reception Desk. At the Reception Desk, present your registration number (found in the registration confirmation email) to receive your name badge and conference materials (including a bag and program leaflet). On-site registered students should also show their student IDs at the Reception Desk. Kindly wear your name badge while inside the venue.

 - Full papers and structured abstracts.
The e-proceedings will be distributed on the ICMPC17 website (e-Proceedings), and the password to open them will be provided by e-mail. Paper copies of the proceedings will not be distributed.

Social Events
Various events will be held by the Nihon University College of Art during the conference. All of them are free of charge.

The 1st day

“Welcome Concert” by Sop. Saki Karikomi (Fujiwara Opera Company) and Pf. Chikako Tanaka (Nihon University)

Enjoy solo piano performances, Japanese songs, and opera arias. Mysterious musical instruments utilizing Japanese high-tech will also be played!

The 2nd day

“書道 (Calligraphy) Workshop” by Maestro Youshuu Kokubo from 豊山庵 (Buzan-An)

“Experiential Attraction- Sound Haunted University” by MIC-NUArt Haunted Research Group

“Casual Cotton Kimono 浴衣 (YUKATA) Workshop” by Japanese Fashion Influencer Madame Mikko
– Location: Main Venue (1st floor), Max. 30 people [Women only]

In Japan, summer is the perfect time to go out in yukata. Embrace the vibrant colors of this traditional garment. Japanese fashion influencer Mikko will dance her way through the Japanese summer in yukata fashion.

“KOTO (Traditional Japanese Stringed Instrument) Concert” by Maestra Tamaki Ando

The 3rd day

The 4th day

“Vocaloid Live – Starlight Miku” by MIC-NUArt Vocaloid Research Group
– Location: Music Hall at the Annex Event Venue (6th floor)

Experience a super live performance by Hatsune Miku, the pride of Japan’s divas. Enjoy the fusion of a live band and 3D motion animation.

WiFi access points and passwords will be provided in each room.


You may store your luggage in the cloakroom located next to the Reception Desk. Please note that we are unable to accept valuables or perishable items for safekeeping.

– Please note that we do not offer day-care or medical service. In case of emergency, such as sudden illness, please come to the Reception Desk for assistance. In the event of a medical emergency, there is an emergency hospital located a 10-minute walk from the venue. Nerima Sogo Hospital (+81-3-5988-2290)

– Smoking is strictly prohibited on campus and in the surrounding streets as per the law. In addition to coffee breaks, there are vending machines on campus where you can purchase drinks using Japanese yen (cash only). The venue opens daily at approximately 7:00.

We have arranged basic insurance for participants, which covers injuries, heatstroke, food poisoning, and facility damage at the venue. Your safety is our top priority. In case of any emergencies or accidents during the conference, please kindly notify our staff. Stay hydrated and treat the facilities with care.

[Joining the Sessions]
You will receive Zoom links via email.

[Zoom Session Protocols]
– Please display your name as follows: [Family name, First name (affiliation)]
– To minimize background noise and distractions, we ask that you keep your microphone and camera turned off during the presentations.

[Q&A and Comment Sessions]
– For those attending via Zoom, we request that all comments and questions be submitted through the “text chat” feature to prevent technical complications.
– A text-based platform will be made available for participants to engage in further discussions.

Online Poster Presentation Session

Preparation Phase
All necessary materials, such as poster images and the discussion forum, will be provided by our conference platform (accessible through the e-Proceedings).
August 26 (Sat.) from 12:10 to 13.00.
The poster presentation session will be held via Zoom for which Kinki Nippon Tourist will e-mail the link.
Breakout Rooms
Once you enter the Zoom meeting, you will find breakout rooms labeled with the poster ID (can be found in e-proceedings) and the name of the first author. Attendees will engage in discussions with the presenters in the designated room.
In Case of Absence
For some reasons (such as time zone differences, etc.), presenters may be unable to be present in the breakout room sessions. In that case, please post questions and/or comments via the online discussion platform accessible from the e-Proceedings. We have requested that the presenters answer the questions/comments on the same platform.
